ISLET Connect Project Phase 2 Completed
The Internet for Sustainable Livelihood, e-Education, and Tourism (ISLET Connect)
project between CVISNET Foundation, Inc. and APNIC Foundation has been completed! The
project’s second phase, which ran from January 2023 to March 2024, covered the remote
island communities of Caohagan, Gilutongan, and Pangan-an Islands in the province of
Cebu.
The ISLET Connect project achievements included enhanced Internet connectivity,
residents’ empowerment with essential skills and knowledge, implementation of
sustainability initiatives ensuring ongoing Internet access, fostering community
engagement through the ISLET Connect Portal, and leveraging existing cooperatives for
resource management and financial sustainability.
