CVISNET as a Certified Science Foundation?
On December 3, 2024, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – S&T Foundation
Unit visited the CVISNET office for a meeting with the CVISNET Team. Led by Engr. Melvin
P. Jusi, the S&T Foundation Unit discussed the benefits and advantages of S&T-oriented
private foundations engaging in scientific and technological activities, particularly in
relation to tax exemption, as well as support for research and development projects and
programs.
Currently, while the program is nationwide, it is primarily focused on institutions
within the NCR Region. As a result, the DOST S&T Foundation Unit is looking to establish
Science Foundations in every region, particularly among NGOs and private sector entities
in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Fortunately, CVISNET is
one of the ICT organizations that the S&T Foundation Unit aims to certify as a Science
Foundation.
Both CVISNET and the DOST S&T Foundation Unit are eager to explore this potential
collaboration!
