CVISNET joins DOST 7 CEST’s Strategic Planning and Road Mapping Activity
Hosted by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 7, CVISNET joined the
Strategic Planning and Road Mapping Activity exhibit from February 28 to March 1, 2024,
at the Golden Prince Hotel, Cebu City. The event aims to identify community needs,
efficiently allocate resources, and promote collaboration among partner
agencies.
The Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) program, a flagship of
the DOST, provides a comprehensive package of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI)
interventions to empower the poorest and most marginalized communities. Implementation
involves the provision and transfer of technology-based development projects to
identified communities, focusing on areas such as education, health and nutrition, water
and sanitation, disaster risk reduction, and community-based enterprise development
initiatives.
CVISNET joined the exhibit featuring its Barangay e-Systems and Tools (BeST) technology.
It is a project initiated to provide the community with a complete easy solution for
planning, monitoring, and document generation for the barangay, including a computerized
record-keeping system that manages the residents' information, judicial information, and
permit generation in the barangay. BeST allows integration of the barangay data
accessible at the municipal level.
It is an honor and a privilege for CVISNET to contribute to initiatives that bridge the
digital divide and empower communities through Science and Technology.
