The visit of the Director of Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International Japan (ATR-Japan), Dr. Toshikazu Sakano, to the island of Gilutongan, Cordova where the Locally Accessible Cloud System (LACS) was deployed as component of the ISLET CONNECT project. LACS serves as an immediate ICT support to the community in the event of disaster. LACS is a result of a 4-year R&D project of the Japanese government through ATR-Japan that was being tested for some use cases in the Philippines.
