LGU Dauin Empowers 6 Barangays with Digital Governance Tools in 2-Day BeST Training
Dauin, Negros Oriental - The Local Government Unit of Dauin, in partnership with the
Department of Science and Technology - Negros Island Region (DOST-NIR) and CVISNET
Foundation, Inc., successfully concluded a two-day training workshop on the Barangay e-
System & Tools (BeST). Held from June 24 to 25, 2026, at the Dauin Mega Market Function
Hall, the initiative equips local personnel with the skills needed to transition traditional, paper-
based workflows into a streamlined digital ecosystem.
The BeST training empowered frontline public servants from six pioneer barangays: Apo
Island, Bagacay, Batuhon Dacu, Bulak, Masaplod Sur, Tunga-Tunga, supported by a key
officer from LGU Dauin.
Key officials attended the event to pledge their support for the municipality's digital
transformation. Atty. Gilbert R. Arbon, DOST-NIR Assistant Regional Director for the Technical
Services Division, emphasized the importance of national and regional backing for grassroots
technological innovation. Concurrently, Municipal Councilor Prince Carl T. Baga highlighted
the LGU's steadfast commitment to modernizing public service delivery. "The implementation
of the BeST platform is a game-changer for our communities. It aims to significantly reduce
waiting times for residents, improve local data management, and secure critical community
records against physical loss or damage," added Councilor Baga.
Following the success of this initial cohort, LGU Dauin and DOST-NIR will be finalizing plans
for a second round of training to ensure a comprehensive, phased rollout of the BeST platform
across all remaining barangays in the municipality.
