CVISNET, International Partners Visit ISLET Connect Sites

After the Digital Inclusion and Disaster Preparedness Program on March 26, 2026, CVISNET and LGU Medellin personnel accompanied the APC, ISEA, and Japanese guests on a site visit to Barangays Curva and Canhabagat- two of the ISLET Connect Project pilot barangays in Medellin, Cebu. The visit provided an opportunity for the guests to observe the progress and impact of the initiative at the community level.

During the visit, the guests explored the ISLET Connect Hubs, inspected installed connectivity infrastructure, and visited designated Point Voucher (PV) locations established to support community access to internet services. The guests were briefed on how the connectivity system operates, including its role in supporting communication, digital services, and local economic activities.

As part of the field engagement, the group also visited Curva National High School and Canhabagat Integrated School, where the potential benefits of reliable internet connectivity for education were highlighted. Discussions focused on how improved internet access can support digital learning, teacher resources, administrative efficiency, and student access to educational materials.

The site visit allowed the guests to gain firsthand insights into the ISLET Connect Project’s implementation, community reception, and early outcomes. It also opened opportunities for further collaboration and support in expanding digital connectivity, strengthening education, and promoting sustainable development in underserved communities.

The activity reaffirmed the shared commitment of CVISNET and its partners to bridging the digital divide and empowering rural communities through sustainable and inclusive connectivity solutions.
